Diaper cake for Rachel & DJ's Babyshower!

First time using a book as a topper! In lieu of cards they thought books would be nice for the baby..so it worked for the topper!

My mom picked out all the items to go on top of the cake..using what I had in my diaper cake stash I created a rainbow of colors with the inspiration coming from the colorful polka dot ribbon!

UGLY DOLL Cake!!!!!!

I had a special request to do a cake with the theme of Ugly Dolls and I think they're cute and perfect for a boy themed cake! {There are girly colors that would work for a girl themed cake as well!}

Before Decorating! :) I think I've updated my cakes by not rolling them! I think it looks more elegant and I love it!!

My cousin bought 4 Ugly Dolls for the cake!

I made the base out of foam core and covered it with burp cloths from the Mommy-To-Be's registry! I think it's kinda fun and it adds some color to the cake other than the plates I normally use :)

Back side of the cake! The socks and Mr. Nandy bear are a little wonky but it's okay because it goes with the cute theme! <3

My mom's good friend Sabrina was having a baby girl so she picked out a few items and I went with the green and baby pink color scheme :)

Pink & Black

I really LOVE this cake! Pink and black is such a simple color pallette but it turned out just how I wanted it to! The gift card holder bear at Babies R Us works FABULOUSLY for cake toppers! It's the perfect size! 

I found the CUTEST ballet slipper socks at Gymboree and I couldn't pass them up...I bought a bunch a while ago and they were perfect for the cake!

I also used washcloths to create roses! It's one of my favorite elements to add onto girls (and some boys) cakes! :)
